How to Determine Thickness of Tires Sidewall

Tires side wall is an important element which is a must know for every vehicle owner, driver and one who deals in cars, automobiles.
Thickness of sidewalls varies across type of vehicles and generally the one with low aspect ratio or thin sidewall have better performance level since the effect of lateral forces is comparatively less while cornering. Thin sidewalls are also stiffer compared to broad sidewall.

Thin sidewalls, basically reduces the tire inflated area, thus has less air contained in it and more rim weight and rubber. This makes the car drive more stiff and bumpy and fewer cushions on uneven roads. Such types of tires are mostly suited for sports cars and heavy trucks. Continuous efforts are made to reach the optimal design structure and sidewalls which can give its user a long lasting and smooth ride.
